Thiele Challenger reporterComment Print Email January 31. 2012 10:05AM Customers of Sioux Marble may not have seen much different there in recent months, even though new owners Tom and Sherri Patzer took over seven months ago. �We made a commitment going into the business that we would leave things the way they are for a year,� Tom Patzer said. He and his children, Amanda Nappl and Ryan Patzer, have been taking turns coming to Brandon to oversee the Splitrock Boulevard business. Joel Jorgenson started Sioux Marble 27 years ago. �I really enjoyed the place,� he said, but at age 66, it was time to retire. He and his wife, Cindy, have been enjoying traveling and spending more time with their grandchildren. When Jorgenson decided to sell Sioux Marble, he offered it to Patzer, a longtime customer and friend. The Patzers initially said no, but eventually decided it would be a good fit. �His customer base has been built over the last 20 years, so we didn�t have to try to kick the tires and find customers,� Patzer said. �It just kind of transitioned to us.� Patzer said he was confident in keeping the same staff on board, as they are well trained.
